Access and privacy for visitors
Understand what your AI assistant can read, what it cannot change and what a public MCP request shares.
Everything is a public wiki. You can read its published articles without creating an account, whether you visit the website or connect an AI assistant to the MCP server.
What can your agent see?
Your assistant can request published pages, search for articles, browse topics and follow related links. It cannot use the visitor connection to access unpublished drafts or private administrative information.
The visitor connection is read-only. It cannot edit pages, publish articles, delete information or change site settings. Some AI clients may display names of tools you cannot use; the server still enforces its permissions.
Everything does not charge visitors for reading. Your AI provider may have its own pricing or plan requirements.
What information is sent?
When your AI assistant calls an Everything MCP tool, it sends the request needed for that operation—for example, a page path or search terms. Everything returns public content or discovery results. Your AI provider then uses the response in your conversation under its own privacy terms.
Do not include passwords, confidential text or personal information in search terms or tool arguments. Everything is a public source of information, not a place to store secrets.
Connecting to Everything does not itself give the website access to your local files, private accounts or other apps. Your assistant may still have separate access to other services you've connected; that is controlled by the assistant and its provider, not the Everything MCP reader.
Verify what you were told
Ask the assistant which Everything page it actually read and for a direct link. Open the page yourself if the point matters. The assistant can paraphrase or reason incorrectly even after a successful tool call.
Can visitors contribute?
Public MCP access does not include publishing or editing. There is no visitor signup flow for writing articles.
Disconnecting
Disable or remove Everything from your AI client's MCP or connector settings. An anonymous reader doesn't need to close an Everything account.
